Gail Eberharter Rankin MD

Gail has been a family physician in Idaho since she completed the Family Practice Residency in Boise in 1985. Her MD degree is from the University of Washington and she has been board certified in Family Medicine for 25 years. She is currently Board Certified in Medical Acupuncture and has been practicing acupuncture since 1996.  Gail was in the first group of practitioners to be certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine after a 5 year course of study. She finds the combination of Functional Medicine and acupuncture is a powerful tool for recovering health and true prevention. Her practice has always been holistic and integrative with Functional Medicine helping to address the root causes of chronic illness and offer meaningful prevention.

Gail is married to Bruce Rankin who has been a critical support to her private practice during and after his successful career with the Boise Fire Department as a firefighter and Division Chief of Operations. They love all activities outdoors including backpacking, flyfishing, skiing and kayaking. They are blessed to have 3 adult children scattered on the West Coast within visiting distance.
